Dashboards within Microsoft Dynamics CRM can be your work hub – the location where all of the information that you need is at your fingertips. At first glance, it may look like a lot of information but all of the data displayed is strategically organized and relevant within their subsets. Let me show you what you can do with the information in dashboards.
In the screenshot above, the dashboard has brought together four different views – information from accounts, opportunities, leads and activities. It also includes a visual of the opportunities that are open in our system.
As you move your cursor around the screen, records may become underlined. This is a visual clue that you can click on that record (account, contact, etc.) for more information. The visual clue will depend on the device that you’re using.
Click on a phone number and it will launch an application such as Skype to call the client.
Click on the garbage can icon and you will delete the record if that is what you need to do.
- Note you will only see the garbage can if you have the permission to delete the item.
An icon beside an item is a link to an associated record, such as a campaign, an opportunity or an order where the activity is located. The graphic below are three of the common icons that you may see with activity records.
